In Cambodia we created a bond with all the children so strong that when we left we could feel our hearts breaking. But knowing that we improved their lives was the most rewarding experience I could ask for. So leaving will definitely be the most difficult for me. My biggest fear is not being able to fully communicate with the children. Communication is important because on this trip we are going to a different place in the world with a different culture and rules, in order to understand these things we have to be able to communicate. I hope to have a better understanding and appreciation for what I have. After Cambodia even the smallest things I used on a daily basis now seemed like a luxury. Having running water and a toilet are things I have had all my life, and seeing people who do not have either was eye opening. Everyone is so kind and willing to accept you with love even though they have nothing. After this trip I want to change for the better. Well obviously, you might say, but in all aspects, as a person, in heart, and mind as well.

Anxiety and Excitement
My deadline for 500$ is coming up soon and I am beginning to worry about making the cut. I have also been brainstorming ideas for fundraisers, which makes me UBER excited! As I see others fund-raise money and achieve their goals it makes me eager for Tanzania because we are all about to go on this amazing journey to help change lives. Even though I am anxious, as I am sure most people are, I am ready to meet the beautiful children of Tanzania and help them in anyway I can!

TANZANIA HERE I COME!
Hi there! Im Nikkomi Weiss a freshman at Battle Mountain. I live in Vail, Colorado and this summer I am so thankful to be traveling with Children's Global Alliance to Tanzania. Two years ago I went with CGA, a non-profit organization, to Cambodia. Since I got the call from Trip 1's leader (Gutti Mama) I have been nervous and anxious. I need to raise 3,000 dollars by May 2nd... which is a lot of money to fund-raise. On this trip it will test my understanding of other cultures and open my eyes to beauty inside and out. On this trip there are people I haven't yet met which I am looking forward to meeting. And these beautiful children in Tanzania to whom I am willing to completely devote myself to on this service trip to Tanzania!!This blog will allow you to keep updated on the amazing journey to Tanzania to help those in need.
